I have to admit it — I spend way too much time scrolling through TikTok. Especially considering that I’m nowhere close to being a Gen-Z member. It’s a great way to distract myself when I feel the need to, and I also learn a lot about what’s trending at the moment. But there is one interesting thing that I have noticed — TikTok trends and skincare shouldn’t be mixed. The risks are much higher than the potential benefits.

Azelaic acid probably isn't the first or even second thing that comes to mind when you think of trending skin care ingredients. Who are we kidding? Most of us don't know that it's a part of skincare. Even I, as a self proclaimed skincare fanatic, haven’t been looking too much into this ingredient. Sure, I have heard some great reviews about Ordinary’s Azelaic Acid 10% suspension. However, it never intrigued me enough to spend the money on it.

Skin texture comes in many different forms. Bumpy skin, enlarged pores, rough spots, and anything else that makes your skin look less luminous and smooth. Until you put on makeup and the texture is accentuated by cakey foundation, these bumps, flakes, pits, and rough areas on your skin are easy to feel but can be a little difficult to see. This problem affects a lot of people of different age groups, and it can be incredibly difficult to treat. To understand how to treat skin texture, we first have to understand what causes it.
