Three Simple Steps Behind Meghan Markle’s Signature Glow
When you think of Meghan Markle, you can’t help but imagine her with glowing, clear, and hydrated skin. And while the Duchess of Sussex has won the genetic lottery, and lives a healthy lifestyle, there are still some tips and tricks that we can learn from her that could help us glow too.
Recently, Meghan’s facialist, Sarah Chapman revealed the skincare steps that Markle always follows. The facialist revealed: “I’ve been fortunate to know Meghan for several years now, and have always found her warm, funny, compassionate, and appreciative – I always look forward to seeing her.”
Beauty starts from within
Sarah made it clear that Meghan Markle’s glow isn’t achieved by products alone: “Meghan is blessed with great skin, but in general, my first tip would be to create a solid regime that infuses skin with health-boosting vitamins, antioxidants, peptides, and omegas.”
The skincare expert made it crystal clear how important a healthy lifestyle is, saying: “I also recommend nourishing the skin from within with a balanced diet and performing my at-home facial massage technique to boost cellular performance.”
Layering is key
Just like any skincare routine, Meghan starts off her routine with a gentle but effective cleanser. Look for something with soothing and hydrating ingredients such as glycerin or Niacinamide. Then, Sarah revealed that the two key skin care ingredients for a healthy glow are hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. Make sure you lock these two ingredients in with a good and hydrating moisturizer.
With the colder season approaching, Sarah also touched on the importance of caring for the skin during the colder months: “In colder weather, focus on hydration – look for formulas that contain ceramides (fatty acids that retain healthy hydration levels), omega oils, which strengthen the skin’s barrier to reduce moisture loss, and hyaluronic acid, which can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water in the skin. You could also try steaming your skin for an instant infusion of moisture – this could be simply in a warm bath or shower.”
According to Meghan, SPF is your BFF
Last but not least, Meghan Markle makes sure to finish her skincare routine off with a good layer of SPF. Chemical SPF has different help filters that make the skin appear dewier. While the dewiness can be a bit too much for some people, if you have a dryer skin type, your makeup will glide on much more effortlessly if you put on a layer of SPF.
Top it off with makeup
If you follow up this makeup routine with matte makeup, you can’t expect to have the royal glow that Meghan has. Opt for hydrating makeup products with an added sheen to them. You can also choose cream or liquid products, that you can blend in seamlessly into your skin. Finish it all off with a light layer of highlighter.
