Zendaya Shared The One Skincare Step She Never Skips
If there is one celebrity worth taking beauty advice from, it’s Zendaya. The famous actress looks absolutely stunning, with either a full face of makeup, or no makeup at all. Her skin is always glowing, and it pretty much seems like she has never had a pimple in her entire life. So it’s not surprising that I want to know every skin care related piece of advice that Zendaya has to offer.
The one skincare step Zendaya never skips
Zendaya’s beauty routine isn’t nearly as complicated as someone might think. In a recent interview for British Vogue, she revealed that there are just two steps in her skincare routine that she never skips. “I never skip moisturizer– I feel like my face would just crack in half. Also, I do not sleep with make-up on. That’s a big rule. But overall, I really enjoy the process of skincare. It’s one of my many obsessions,” the actress explained.
Sounds like Zendaya knows what’s up. If you just came back from a night out, or you are completely worn out and feel like you don’t have the energy to do an elaborate skincare routine, make sure you at least do these two steps. Double cleanse your skin with an oil-based and water-based cleanser, and follow it up with a thick layer of moisturizer. Sometimes less really is more, especially when it comes to skincare.
Give your skin a rest
However, though the actress prefers to keep things simple, from time to time she also likes to spice things up. Zendaya explained: “Even though I tend to keep the routine basic, I try new products all the time and I enjoy the ritual [of it]. Sometimes it’s fun to treat yourself with a little facial before bed.” So when you have the extra time and extra energy, why not treat yourself and apply a sheet mask or massage your skin with a jade roller?
While being consistent is the most important thing when it comes to our skincare routine, that doesn’t mean that you have to do the same routine everyday. Remember, it should feel more of a ritual than a duty. Skincare is a form of a self-care, and the whole goal of it is to make you feel good about yourself. If you’re not feeling like doing a 10-step-routine, keep things at a minimum. However, if you need some time for yourself to unwind from your day, light up some candles, put on your favorite Taylor Swift album, and enjoy the process of your skincare routine.
Zendaya also explained why she doesn’t believe using the same products every day is effective. She said: “I’ll incorporate different serums every now and then. I think it’s good to switch up your skincare so that your skin doesn’t get too used to it. My products always seem more effective after I’ve left them for a bit and come back.” If you like to switch up your serums as well, just make sure that you use them up before they have the chance to expire.
